Terps pull out close victory in revenge game against Michigan State

The Maryland women's basketball team managed to escape Breslin Student Events Center with a 76-68 win, stopping the Michigan Land Spartans from completing a huge comeback. Maryland led 61-45 at the finish to a 3rd quarter, just a 11-0 run past the Spartans cutting the lead to 61-52 with just vi minutes remaining.
The Spartans simply ran out of time in the improvement as a 3-point shot cutting by Branndais Agee made it a five-bespeak game. Stephanie Jones played a huge role scored four of her xiv points during the final 6 minutes to seal the victory.
The win avenged Maryland's Jan. 11th loss to Michigan State with the viii-point win. The January loss was the Terps' showtime game since losing Blair Watson for the flavour with an ACL tear.
Maryland (twenty-3, 9-1 Large Ten) improves to nine-1 on the road and remains atop the Big 10 with the win. The Terps continue to hold a two-game pb over Ohio Country with just five games remaining earlier the Big 10 Tournament. Meanwhile, Michigan State continues to struggle as the Spartans take dropped their past six games.
Kalia Charles filled up the stat canvass scoring a squad-high nineteen points and eleven rebounds. Charles performed much better than her first outing against the Spartans where she scored only nine points and shot a disastrous iv-eleven from the field.
Kristen Confroy also had a potent bounceback performance against the Spartans subsequently shooting iv-of-11 on January. 11th past scoring fourteen points.
Maryland will travel face Rutgers on Sunday at noon. It volition be the 2d matchup against the Scarlet Knights in ii weeks, as the Terps won by 28 at Xfinity Center on February. 1st.
